You’re invited to spend your summer with Sara, Jubilee, Ben and Alex at River East Day Camp!

Who We Are

River East Day Camp is a non-profit summer program that offers affordable and engaging day camps for kids entering grades 1-6 in the fall of 2019. At River East Day Camp, our purpose is to introduce Christian truths to children through a variety of activities encouraging them to relate positively to God to others and to the world.  Our day camp staff model the Christian faith emphasizing how it affects the way we treat the people around us and how we care for God’s creation.

Our Staff and Community

Our enthusiastic Day Camp team of 4 staff consists of 2 Coordinators, and 2 Counselors, as well as a supportive and loving committee and church community that provides training, financial support, encouragement, and cookies!

Our Programs

We run three programs throughout the summer (9 am – 3:30 pm) which are geared towards creative expression, physical activity and celebration of cultural diversity, and which work to instill values such as acceptance, cooperation, love, kindness, and fun.

We are changing things up a bit from last year to make day camp even more exciting!  This summer’s themes include “Art-rageous Week”, “Olympics Week” and “Around the World Week”. Fun activities will be centered around the weeks’ theme, and we will still have popular field trips such as Fun Mountain and the Children’s Museum. We will take away some positive spiritual messages from each week as well as spend time learning about ourselves and about God. You can sign up for 1, 2 or even 3 weeks of daycamp this summer.

Art-rageous Week (July 15 – 19)

We will have theme days on the arts such as painting, drawing, drama and dance (no prior experience is required). There will be something for everyone to express their God given talents, as we want to encourage and celebrate our creativity together.  Campers will develop confidence while having fun exploring the arts and learning about God’s creativity.

Olympics Week (July 22 – 26) FULL

We will have fun and physical activity while celebrating how amazing God has made our bodies.  There will be a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that everyone can enjoy such as swimming, roller skating, wall-climbing, gym games and team building.

Around the World Week (July 29 - August 2)

We will focus on understanding and celebrating diversity, as well as learning to act on our call to be love in the world. While celebrating each other's differences we will explore what it means to be one under God, and what it means to love one other. Together we will enjoy different foods, arts & crafts, fun and games, and exciting field trips to the Children’s Museum and Fun Mountain!

Camper Reviews

"My favourite parts of day camp were the counselors, telling funny jokes, and singing songs.”
- Kianna, camper, 2018

“I would say it was the songs that made the biggest impact on my daughter. She practiced the words and the actions every day when she came home. That, and the way all the leaders invested in relationships with the kids - that's what she remembers and what matters most to her.”
- Marilyn, parent, 2018
